In 1976, Argentine writer Haroldo Conti is abducted by the military dictatorship shortly after it seizes power. Two weeks later, the new president invites several prominent cultural figures to a private lunch at the Government House. The film depicts that historic meal and the conversations among Borges, Sabato, and others during a dark chapter in Argentina's history.
