Kafes, 12 Eylül Darbesi döneminde cezaevinde işkencelere maruz kalan gençlerin hayatını ele alan film, dönemin Türkiye'sindeki sosyal ve siyasal ortamı anlatmaktadır. Baş rollerinde İsmail Hacıoğlu, Nilay Duru, Şefik Onatoğlu, Fırat Şahin ve Tolga Yüce gibi isimlerin yer aldığı filmin çekimleri Ankara'nın Hamamönü, Hamamarkası, Gölbaşı semtlerinde ve Ulucanlar Cezaevi'nde yapılmıştır.
