Wakefield is a 2016 American drama film written and directed by Robin Swicord and starring Bryan Cranston and Jennifer Garner. It is based on the 2008 short story of the same name by E. L. Doctorow published in The New Yorker, which was in turn inspired by the 1835 story of the same title by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
