Racer and the Jailbird (French: Le Fidèle) is a 2017 romantic crime drama film co-written and directed by Michaël R. Roskam. It stars Matthias Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos as a gangster and a race car driver who fall in love, but come into conflict with a brutal crime gang in Brussels. It was selected to be screened out of competition at the 74th Venice International Film Festival in 2017. It was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated as a finalist.
