Le documentaire suit les répétitions de la pièce de théâtre Une longue peine de Didier Ruiz, dont la trame est basée sur des souvenirs liés à l'incarcération, avec dans la distribution : André Boiron, Annette Foëx, Éric Jayat, Alain Pera et Louis Perego.
