How it feels
In the summer of 1989, two city girls go to a small Latvian town to stay with their cousins. Left without constant adult supervision, the four girls play, copy adult behaviors, and get into minor troubles. The story is based on a nine-year-old narrator's memories of growing up during Latvia's early push for independence.
