The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

During the Finnish Civil War, captured red theater actors are sent to a prison camp. A German commander spares them if they can create a play that amuses him.

What happens

Suomen hauskin mies on vuonna 2018 ensi-iltansa saanut mustan huumorin sävyttämä draamaelokuva, jonka on ohjannut Heikki Kujanpää. Se kertoo Suomen sisällissodan aikaisesta Isosaaren punavankileiristä, jonne tuodut vangitut punaiset teatterinäyttelijät saavat jäädä teloittamatta, mikäli kehittävät saksalaista komentajaa hauskuuttavan näytelmän. Suomen hauskin mies sai ensi-iltansa 16. maaliskuuta 2018. Elokuva pohjautuu Kujanpään kirjoittamaan samannimiseen näytelmään, jonka ensi-ilta oli Helsingin Kaupunginteatterissa vuonna 2017. Näytelmä puolestaan on saanut innoituksensa toimittaja Vihtori Huhdan johdolla Suomenlinnan vankileirillä tehdystä pilkkanäytelmästä, jossa käsiteltiin Suomen kuningaskuntahanketta. Elokuvan päähenkilö on Martti Suosalon esittämä näyttelijä Toivo Parikka, jonka henkilöhahmoon on Huhdan ohella otettu piirteitä Jalmari Parikasta ja Aarne Orjatsalosta. Paavo Kinnunen sai roolistaan parhaan miessivuosan Jussi-palkinnon. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
