Released in Italy on November 15, 2018, the film focuses on World War II in Istria following September 8, 1943—immediately after Italy signed the separate armistice with the Anglo-American Allies—and on the life of Norma Cossetto, a young Istrian student who was killed by Yugoslav partisans in October 1943 at the age of 23.
