It was released on November 1, 2019, without any forewarning, as a separate short film on the Netflix streaming platform where the television series airs. It was written by Mara Vargas and directed by series creator Manolo Caro. It stars members of the show's cast as the de la Mora family, mourning matriarch Virginia, who died between seasons one and two; though released only a few weeks after season two, it fits chronologically between the first two seasons.
