Der Originaltitel lautete „Wie man auf den Kilimanjaro steigt – mit und ohne Krücken“ und wurde im März 2023 geändert. Die internationale Premiere feierte der Film auf dem Atlanta Docufest in der Online-Sektion im Mai 2022.
