How it feels

During the Beiyang period in China, the manager of a theater troupe, a delivery boy, and a military commander all end up at a show of Farewell My Concubine. The commander forces the delivery boy to replace the lead actor and rewrites the story. The movie uses the stage as a mirror to mock how power interferes with art and shows the struggles and dignity of ordinary people in troubled times.
