What happens

Ether (Originaltitel: Éter) ist ein brasilianischer Dokumentar-Kurzfilm von Luiza Calagian aus dem Jahr 2025. Die fast hundertjährige Großmutter der Regisseurin erzählt von einer Begegnung mit einem Spiritisten, bei dem sie das erste Mal das fünfte Element Ether erfahren hat. Sie berichtet vom Tod ihrer Mutter, wozu man Fotoaufnahmen einer schlanken Frau am Strand sieht. Die Großmutter erzählt weiter von den Tieren, die sie in ihrem Leben adoptiert hat. Auch glaubt sie an deren Wiedergeburt. Dazu sieht man Aufnahmen ihres Hundes, von Vögeln auf Fotos und Nahaufnahmen von Insekten.
