Citizen Vigilante is a 2026 independent vigilante film produced, written, and directed by Uwe Boll. It stars Armie Hammer as Michael Sanders, a vigilante enraged by the breakdown of law and order who targets criminals and rapists, most of whom are migrants, and the corrupt officials who protect them. The film was released in select theaters in North America and digitally on June 19, 2026. A U.K. release was approved in early July. The film received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics, who criticized its plot, execution and perceived anti-immigrant message, but was praised by several right-wing and far-right figures. Following its release on streaming, it became the No. 1 purchase on both the Apple TV Store and Amazon Prime Video. In Germany, the film did not receive an age rating in its first two reviews by the FSK, meaning it could not be shown in theaters, advertised or be sold in most stores. Elon Musk subsequently promoted the film and made it available for free on X for two days.
