Ce film met en scène une épouse et une mère qui perd sa famille dans un accident de la route. Le scénario s'inspire du récit autobiographique éponyme, best-seller publié en 2010 par l'Autrichienne Barbara Pachl-Eberhart (de). Le rôle principal de cette coproduction austro-allemande est interprété par Valerie Pachner. Seule la vie est présenté en avant-première mi-février 2026 dans le cadre de la Berlinale.
