Im Mittelpunkt steht der Polizeihund Rex (Im Original Ivan), ein Deutscher Schäferhund. Die Idee zur Serie stammte von Donald Hyde. Die Serie wurde in Deutschland zuerst auf ARD 2 ausgestrahlt.
