What happens
《달동네》는 1980년 10월 1일부터 이듬해 9월 5일까지 방영된 일일연속극이다. 당초 TBC에서 인기리에 방영되다가, 1980년 12월 1일 언론통폐합으로 인해 동양텔레비전 TBC-TV가 KBS로 인수 합병되면서 KBS에서 그대로 이어 받아 방영하였으며, 채널은 동양텔레비전 TBC-TV를 이어받은 KBS 2TV가 아닌 KBS 1TV에서 방영되었고 해당 작품이 TBC에서 방송될 당시 해당 작품 후속으로 <장희빈>을 내보낼 예정이었으나 언론통폐합 때문에 무산되었다. 또한 초창기에는 흑백으로 방영되었다가 1980년 12월 1일부터, 컬러 방송이 시작되면서 컬러로 방영되었으며 평균 시청률이 60%대에 육박하면서 방송 내내 주간 시청률이 전체 1,2위를 기록할 정도로 큰 인기를 끌었다.
