《그 해 겨울은 따뜻했네》는 1988년 8월 3일부터 같은 해 10월 6일까지 방영된 한국방송공사 수목 미니시리즈로, 본 작품은 박완서의 동명 소설을 원작으로 제작되었다. 한편, 극 중 오목 역은 당초 김희애가 캐스팅될 예정이었으나 개인 사정으로 출연을 고사하여, 부득이하게 김도연이 대신 발탁되었다. 이 과정에서 제작진은 문화방송 측과 일시적으로 마찰을 빚은 것으로 알려졌다. 미니시리즈가 정식으로 도입되면서, 《그 해 겨울은 따뜻했네》를 기점으로 이후 방영된 《숨은 그림 찾기》에 이르기까지, KBS 2TV 수목 드라마 시간대는 본격적으로 미니시리즈 형식으로 정착되었다. 아울러 1988년 서울 올림픽 중계로 인해 2주간 결방되었으며, 이에 따라 당초 예정된 9월 22일이 아닌 10월 6일에 종영하였다.
