In der Sendung werden Unfälle und Rettungseinsätze nacherzählt, die sich tatsächlich (im Mitteldeutschen Raum und in der DDR) ereignet haben, u. a. der Eisenbahnunfall von Elsterwerda 1997 und das Unglück des Binnenschiffes „Heimatland“ 1951 in der DDR.
