In 1970s Iran, a woman named Hajar is unable to have children with her husband Reza Alamdar. She pressures him to marry her brother's sister Star, but Reza resists. After a car accident sends a family friend to prison, Reza must look after the man's mother and sister, leading to complicated feelings and family tensions.

ولینعمت فیلمی به کارگردانی عزیزاله رفیعی محصول سال ۱۳۵۵ است. هاجر، همسر رضا علمدار، باردار نمیشود. رضا علمدار با عبدالله در یک گاوداری شریک است. هاجر از علمدار میخواهد که او ستاره، خواهر عبدالله، را به همسری بگیرد. علمدار مخالف است. عبدالله در یک حادثهٔ تصادف اتومبیل، مردی را میکشد و به زندان میافتد و از علمدار میخواهد که از خواهرش ستاره و مادرش مراقبت کند. رشید، برادر هاجر، که در خانهٔ علمدار زندگی میکند، به ستاره علاقهمند میشود؛ اما ستاره دل در گروه علمدار دارد.
