Elena of Avalor is an American animated children's television series created by Craig Gerber. It premiered on Disney Channel on July 22, 2016, before it was moved to Disney Junior on July 14, 2018. The series features Aimee Carrero as the voice of Elena, Disney's first Latina princess. The series aired 77 episodes, in three seasons, between July 22, 2016, to August 23, 2020, when the series finale aired. The series was generally lauded for its incorporation of Latin influences, music, and traditions, focus on family and friendship, and multiculturalism, with some calling Elena a strong role model for young girls, with others critical of how Latino diversity was portrayed in the series.
