Virgin River is an American romantic drama television series developed by Sue Tenney for Netflix, adapted from the book series of the same name by Robyn Carr. The series centers on nurse practitioner Melinda "Mel" Monroe, who moves from Los Angeles to the remote Northern California town of Virgin River seeking a fresh start, and she discovers a tight-knit community and a budding romance with local bartender Jack Sheridan. The series is produced by Reel World Management and primarily filmed in British Columbia, Canada. The series premiered on Netflix on December 6, 2019.
