Након распада Југославије, поред јавног сервиса настају серије у продукцији приватних кућа, попут: Прва ТВ, РТВ Пинк, Хепи ТВ, БК ТВ, ТВ Нова, Б92, Фокс ТВ, Студио Б, Топ ТВ, Нова С, Суперстар ТВ.
