How it feels
A Vietnamese woman named Tina endures a brutal month-long boat journey from Vietnam to Hong Kong with her husband and infant son during the boat people exodus. They survive pirate attacks and a storm, but her son dies of exposure. Penniless and grieving, she reaches Canada and finds the American dream is not what she expected.
