How it feels
A young woman in post-war Japan works as a prostitute to support her family while holding onto her dream of becoming a schoolteacher. She falls in love with a doctor but they are separated by circumstances. Years later she becomes a teacher and they reunite, but new obstacles challenge their relationship.
