What happens

El primer cicle de la sèrie de televisió Pokémon, oficialment anomenada Pokémon: Pocket Monsters a Occident, inclou les temporades 1 a 5 d'aquest anime adaptat dels videojocs Pokémon Red i Blue i Pokémon Gold i Silver. Es va emetre al Japó entre 1997 i 2002. Aquesta sèrie relata les aventures de l'Ash per Kanto (temporada 1, corresponent a Red i Blue), la nova regió de les illes de les Taronges (temporada 2) i Johto (temporades 3 a 5, corresponents a Or i Plata). L'acompanyen la Misty (temporades 1 a 5), en Brock (temporades 1 i 3 a 5) i en Tracey (temporada 2). És l'únic cicle basat en dues generacions diferents de jocs, i per això també és l'únic cicle en què l'Ash renova completament el seu equip de Pokémon i la seva roba durant el cicle. Tot el primer cicle es va emetre doblat en valencià a Canal Nou i Punt 2. A Catalunya, el 2001 es varen editar en VHS en català nou episodis de la primera temporada i tres de la segona en un pack anomenat La maleta elèctrica d'en Pikachu. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
