علاء الدين أبو الشامات مسلسل عربي قديم مقتبس عن ألف ليلة وليلة إنتاج تلفزيون قطر عام 1985 وبطولة: سيار الكواري وجبر الفياض من قطر وحمدي حافظ وإحسان القلعاوي من مصر، وجيانا عيد وهالة شوكت وأحمد عداس من سوريا، ومحمود أبو غريب وزهير النوباني من الأردن، والتفات عزيز من العراق وغيرهم .. ومن إخراج المخرج السوري غسان جبري اصل الشخصيه من الف ليله وليله شخصية علاء الدين الأصلية في حكايات ألف ليلة وليلة لم تُصوّر كعربي، بل كشخصية صينية ثقافياً، رغم أن القصة نفسها ذات أصول شرق أوسطية. لم يكن هناك في القصة الأصلية أي ارتباط بالإسلام في الصين، حيث أن الأحداث تقع في الصين، ولكن معظم الشخصيات مسلمة أو يهودية (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
