How it feels
This series follows three generations of the Zhong family across modern Chinese history. A bandit and his kidnapped wife join the resistance against Japanese forces and later die. Their son fights in the Korean War and lives through the Cultural Revolution. Their grandson becomes a distinguished soldier in the People's Liberation Army.
