《오픈드라마 남과여》는 2001년 1월 8일부터 2004년 2월 27일까지 방송되었던 단막극 프로그램인데 소재 자체를 사랑 얘기로 한정해 정통 단막극과 거리가 멀었다. 한편, 2001년 1월 8일부터 월요일 오후 10시 55분에 편성되었고 2001년 8월 13일부터 월요일 오후 11시 5분으로 변경됐으나 "드라마 중복 편성"이란 지적을 받아오자 2003년 5월 16일부터 《야심만만 만명에게 물었습니다》와 시간대를 맞바꿔 금요일로 옮겨갔지만 여성 월간지의 단골 메뉴를 소재로 잡은 '아류 단막극'인 동시간대 KBS 2TV 《부부클리닉 사랑과 전쟁》 탓인지 시청률이 갈수록 떨어졌다. 아울러, '희롱남녀' 편이 "직장내 성희롱을 마치 사랑의 표현인 것처럼 표현하는 등 성희롱에 대한 사회적 편견을 부추겼다"는 지적을 받아 2001년 2월 민언련 선정 "이달의 나쁜방송"에 선정되는 불명예를 안기도 했다. 이와 더불어, 그 동안 방영된 것들을 엄선하여 2005년 5월 7일부터 10월 29일까지 <특선 오픈드라마>가 토요일 오전 11시에 편성됐는데 9월 17일에는 10시 20분부터 낮 12시 5분까지 추석특집 《잘 먹고 잘 사는 법》편성 - 10월 1일에는 《국군의 날》 기념식 편성으로 결방됐다.
