『アメリカ横断ウルトラクイズ』（アメリカおうだんウルトラクイズ）は、日本テレビ系列で1977年から1992年と、1998年の全17回開催・放送された視聴者参加型のクイズ番組。略称は「ウルトラクイズ」あるいは「ウルトラ」。 英語表記は"TRANS AMERICA ULTRA QUIZ"である。なお、タイトルロゴには"TRANS AM ULTRA QUIZ"と表記された。 1977年（昭和52年）、『木曜スペシャル』枠で日本テレビ創立25周年（開局24周年）記念番組として放送された。翌年からレギュラー化し、年に1回制作、毎年10月下旬から12月上旬頃に放送された。番組名は『史上最大!第○回 アメリカ横断ウルトラクイズ』（第1回は回数表記なし）。1992年（平成4年）の第16回を最後に終了となったが、1998年（平成10年）日本テレビ開局45年記念番組『ネッツトヨタスペシャル 今世紀最後!! 史上最大! アメリカ横断ウルトラクイズ』（以下「“今世紀最後”」と記す）として一度限りの復活を果たした。 番組名の「アメリカ」とはアメリカ大陸という意味であり、アメリカ合衆国（米国）のみを指したものではない。 (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
