A young bachelor gets a letter from a friend leaving for Europe who asks him to look after his little girl. He buys toys and prepares for a child but instead meets an 18 year old woman who quickly wins his heart. Within a year they are married and present their own baby to the grandfather.

Passano solo tre mesi e la ragazza è diventata "la mia bambina" anche per lui. Dopo un anno, quando Hawkins torna dall'Europa, la coppia felice presenta al nonno "la nostra bambina".
