A silent short film shows boxer James J. Corbett dancing with actress Florence Turner. She faints from dizziness and he suggests she exercise more. She visits a gym where a professor demonstrates gymnastics. Later Corbett teaches her boxing basics. The film then shows Corbett sparring on a ring and recreating key punches from his famous fights.

James J. Corbett; or, How Championships Are Won and Lost è un cortometraggio muto del 1910. James J. Corbett, il pugile gentiluomo, sta danzando un valzer con Florence Turner, la "ragazza della Vitagraph". Lei, presa dalle vertigini, sviene.
