Growth of the Soil (Norwegian: Markens Grøde) is an upcoming epic romantic drama film directed by Hans Petter Moland from a screenplay he wrote with Gard B. Eidsvold, based on the 1917 novel by Knut Hamsun. The film stars Herbert Nordrum and Asta Kamma August, alongside Eidsvold, Anders Baasmo, Oddgeir Thune, and Sjur Vatne Brean in supporting roles. The film will have its world premiere at the Special Presentations section of the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. It will be released on 28 October 2026 in Norwegian theatres.
