I frihetens bur er en norsk stumfilm fra 1912, regissert og fotografert av Halfdan Nobel Roede og produsert av Internationalt Film Compagnie AS (Roedes eget selskap). Det var blant de første filmene produsert i Norge. Den ble spilt inn med 35 mm film og er 600 meter lang. Filmviteren Gunnar Iversen har fremholdt at I frihetens bur er en alternativ tittel på en annen film fra 1911 som Halfdan Nobel Roede hadde regissert, nemlig Under forvandlingens lov. Filmen har samme tittel som Gunnar Heibergs lystspill fra 1910, som først ble utgitt på trykk i 1929. Både Heibergs skuespill og stumfilmen til Roede er komedier om utroskap, men handlingsforløpene avviker ellers ganske mye fra hverandre. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
