Filmens hovedroller spilles af Robert Dinesen og Agnete Blom. Filmen havde dansk premiere den 10. april 1913 i Panoptikon Teatret og blev i tysktalende lande distribueret som Wenn die Not am grössten ..., i engelsktalende lande som Life's Stony Path og i fransktalende lande som Quand le besoin est à l'excès le secours est le plus près.
