What happens
El río de los espíritus es una película documental ecuatoriana de 2024 dirigida por el colectivo Tawna y codirigido por el cineasta achuar Nase Lino, junto a Sani Montahuano y Boloh Miranda.La película retrata la vida, cosmovisión y resistencia del pueblo Achuar en la Amazonía ecuatoriana, a través de una narrativa que combina documental observacional con elementos espirituales y comunitarios. La obra sigue a Luciano Peas, un joven Achuar que recorre los ríos de su territorio mientras enfrenta los desafíos que amenazan su entorno, integrando una mirada desde el propio territorio sobre la relación entre naturaleza, identidad y desarrollo. La película fue exhibida inicialmente en territorio Achuar en el marco del Festival Kanua, y posteriormente tuvo proyecciones internacionales, incluyendo funciones en el Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) de Nueva York.
