How it feels
A duke is banished after a duel with his wife's lover. The duchess and their daughter move to America where the daughter dies. The duchess returns to Italy with a young companion who everyone thinks is her daughter. The duke returns and wants this companion to marry for the family honor, but she loves an American artist. The truth about her identity comes out and they are free to be together.
