How it feels
As an older man, Willie Buckland explains to a friend why he and his wife return yearly to hear church chimes. In his youth, he loved a gypsy girl named Jane. After his father died, he fell for a dying woman in the city and stayed with her. Penniless and ill, Jane found and nursed him back to health. She then challenged him to find her in one year. He arrived at the village as chimes rang and found her with their children.
