Varaventtiili (ruots. Kärlekens ABC) on Valentin Vaalan ohjaama suomalainen mustavalkoelokuva vuodelta 1942. Se on tyyliltään romanttinen komedia ja perustuu Hilja Valtosen romaaniin. Varaventtiili on ensimmäinen Suomi-Filmin elokuva, joka kuvattiin kokonaisuudessaan jatkosodan puhkeamisen jälkeen. Elokuvan on äänittänyt Harald Koivikko ja kuvauksesta vastasi Eino Heino. Lavastukset teki Ville Hänninen ja musiikin sävelsi Harry Bergström. Ensi-ilta oli 22. maaliskuuta 1942 Helsingin Scalassa ja Kino-Palatsissa sekä useissa maaseututeattereissa. Varaventtiili kuvaa kuinka turhauttavaa rutiininomainen opettajan työ voi olla spontaanille ja älyllisiä haasteita kaipaavalle luonteelle. Sanallisesti lahjakas ja huumorintajuinen päähenkilö Liisa hakee vastapainoa työlleen kirjallisuudesta, musiikista ja harrastajateatterista, eikä löydä työpaikalta kaipaamaansa samankaltaista juttukaveria.
