How it feels

This is a Finnish comedy from 1948 that attempts to mix American slapstick tropes with local humor. The director later called it awful and said it was meant to be a Finnish version of Laurel and Hardy style comedy. It was aimed at children and teenagers but got a 16-year age rating which hurt its box office.

Pontevat pommaripojat on Ville Salmisen ohjaama suomalainen elokuva vuodelta 1948. Salminen on jälkikäteen haastattelussa kuvaillut elokuvaa kamalaksi ja katsonut sen sisältävän lähes kaikki amerikkalaisten komediaelokuvien kliseet. Hänen mukaansa se oli olevinaan jonkinlainen suomalainen versio Ohukaisen ja Paksukaisen slapstickkomiikasta. Vaikka elokuva oli selvästi kepeä komedia ja juoneltaan hyvinkin lapsellinen, heikon yleisömenestyksen varmisti sille määrätty 16 vuoden ikäraja. Tuottaja T. J.
