The Lion is a 1962 British adventure film in CinemaScope directed by Jack Cardiff, starring William Holden and Trevor Howard. Filmed on location in Kenya and Uganda and on a property in Kenya co-owned by Holden, the Mount Kenya Safari Club. The film is based on the novel The Lion by the French author Joseph Kessel.
