A feladat egy 1975-ben készült, 1976-ban bemutatásra került háromrészes sci-fi tévéfilm, amely Zsoldos Péter azonos című regényén alapult. A forgatókönyvet Zsoldos Péter Várkonyi Gáborral együtt írta, aki rendezte is a produkciót. A történet szerint egy szerencsétlenül járt kutatóűrhajó utolsó, életben maradt pilótája egy központi memóriaegység segítségével a lakott bolygó kiválasztott egyedeibe próbálja átültetni saját énjének akaratát, és próbálja visszavezetni a hajót a Földre.
