What happens
Takapihan sankarit on suomalainen puolipitkä lastenelokuva vuodelta 1992. Se perustuu Kaarlo Merimaan romaaneihin Takapihan sankareita (1931, tekijän uudistama laitos 1962) ja Kräki-Kalle ja Limperi (1961). Käsikirjoituksen laativat Antti Hietala ja Panu Pohjola, joka myös ohjasi elokuvan. Esitetekstin mukaan Takapihan sankarit on ”impressio siitä hetkestä, kun lapsi tajuaa, että lapsuus on ohimenevää”. Käsikirjoittajat yhdistelivät elokuvaan episodeja Merimaan molemmista teoksista ja sijoittivat tapahtumat nimeltä mainitsemattomaan kaupunkiin sotien jälkeen. Puvustus ja lavastus viittaavat 1940- ja 1950-lukujen vaihteen puutalokaupunkiin. Kuvauspaikkoina olivat muun muassa Suomenlinna ja Ruiskumestarin talo Helsingin Kruununhaassa. Takapihan sankarit kuvattiin 16 millimetrin filmille alun perin televisioelokuvaksi, mutta otettiin myös teatterilevitykseen. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
