What happens
Double Happiness is a 1994 Canadian drama film directed by Mina Shum, co-produced by the National Film Board of Canada. The film stars Sandra Oh as Jade Li, an actress struggling to assert her independence from the expectations of her Chinese Canadian family. Callum Keith Rennie also stars as Mark, Jade's love interest. The film was the first feature directed by a Chinese Canadian woman to be given a wide release. It was also one of Oh's earliest performances; she received critical acclaim for her performance, and won the Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for the film.
