เพื่อนสนิท เป็นภาพยนตร์ไทยที่ผลิตโดยจีเอ็มเอ็ม ไท หับ กำกับโดย คมกฤษ ตรีวิมล โดยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากบทประพันธ์เรื่อง กล่องไปรษณีย์สีแดง ของ อภิชาติ เพชรลีลา ซึ่งตีพิมพ์ครั้งแรกเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2543 นำแสดงโดย ซันนี่ สุวรรณเมธานนท์, นุ่น - ศิรพันธ์ วัฒนจินดา, เอ๋ - มณีรัตน์ คำอ้วน, โอปอล์ - ปาณิสรา อารยะสกุล เป็นต้น เนื้อเรื่องกล่าวถึงเรื่องราวของนักศึกษาคณะวิจิตรศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ สองคน คือ ไข่ย้อย และ ดากานดา โดย ไข่ย้อย ได้ตกหลุมรักเพื่อนสนิทโดยไม่รู้ตัว จนกระทั่งวันหนึ่งที่มีคนอื่นเข้ามาจีบเพื่อนของตัวเอง จึงได้รู้ตัวว่าได้หลงรักเพื่อนตัวเองเข้าแล้ว เรื่องราวของเพื่อนสนิทดำเนินไปสองช่วงเวลาสลับกัน ระหว่างเนื้อเรื่องของหมู (ไข่ย้อย) เดินทางไปเกาะพะงัน ภายหลังจบการศึกษา ซึ่งได้รับบาดเจ็บและรักษาตัวอยู่ที่โรงพยาบาลเกาะพะงัน ที่ซึ่งเขาได้เจอ นุ้ย นางพยาบาลสาวสวย และขณะเดียวกัน ก็เป็นเรื่องราวที่หมู นึกถึงเรื่องราวในช่วงที่เรียนอยู่ ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง เพื่อนสนิท เข้าฉายในโรงภาพยนตร์ครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 6 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2548 โดยทำรายได้ได้มากกว่า 80 ล้านบาท (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
