The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this series is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

What happens

Maailma sanojen vankina oli Yle TV2 -kanavalla vuosina 1992–1998 esitetty mediakriittinen ajankohtaisohjelma, jossa käsiteltiin tiedotusvälineiden tapaa uutisoida politiikan ja yhteiskuntaelämän ilmiöitä. Ohjelma kehittyi journalismikritiikin kautta yleisen mediakritiikin suuntaan. Se sisälsi itseironiaa sekä keksittyjä asiantuntijoita, kuten ranskalainen filosofi Albert France de North. Ohjelman katsojaluvut olivat parhaimmillaan yli 700 000. Ohjelman vetäjinä olivat toimittajat Erkki Saksa ja Risto Eronen. Muita keskeisiä tekijöitä Jyrki Lehtola, Reeta Kivihalme, Kimmo Norokorpi, Kari Kontio ja Anu Kantola sekä ohjaajina Tiina Roisko ja Päivi Ojala. Maailma sanojen vankina -työryhmä sai Vuoden Kiila -palkinnon vuonna 1994. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
