What happens
Hoe bestaat het was een Nederlands satirisch consumentenprogramma van de VARA dat van 1975 tot 1981 werd uitgezonden. Het programma werd gepresenteerd door Joop Brussee, Ati Dijckmeester en Hans Emmering en was gebaseerd op That's Life! van de BBC. Het had als slogan "Holland op zijn smalst". De regie was in handen van Simon Wadleigh en Anneke Bos. In het programma werden consumentenproblemen op satirische wijze door het drietal van presentatoren uiteengezet met onder meer sketches en het naspelen van gesprekken tussen consumenten en leveranciers. De onderwerpen volgden elkaar in een hoog tempo op. Een vast onderdeel waren knipsels uit de kranten met foutieve, vreemde of absurde zaken. De formule van het programma werd hergebruikt voor het latere KRO-programma Ook dat nog!, inclusief de krantenknipsels, alsook voor het van 2011 t/m 2019 uitgezonden VARA-programma Kanniewaarzijn met Astrid Joosten.
