What happens

Eteenpäin – elämään (ruots. Framåt mot livet) on Toivo Särkän ja Yrjö Nortan ohjaama suomalainen draamaelokuva vuodelta 1939. Elokuva perustuu Juhani Tervapään eli Hella Wuolijoen näytelmään Justiina (1937). 1900-luvun sortovuosista alkavat tapahtumat sijoittuvat kartanomiljööseen. Näytelmä oli Tervapään teoksista ensimmäinen, johon Suomen Filmiteollisuus osti filmausoikeudet päästäkseen osalliseksi kirjailijan saamasta suosiosta. Käsikirjoituksessa suuri osa näytelmän yhteiskunnallisista aineksista on peitetty ja elokuva on sen sijaan kertomus epäsäätyisestä rakkaudesta. Tarinassa kartanon nuori herra Robert rakastuu piikatyttö-Justiinaan, mutta myöntyväisyyslinjaa ajava senaattori-setä estää avioliiton. Hän häätää veljenpoikansa kaupunkiin ja Justiina synnyttää lapsen, jonka hän kasvattaa yksin. Kevytmielisen laulajattaren kanssa avioitunut, laamanniksi ylennyt Robert palaa parinkymmenen vuoden kuluttua lapsuudenkotiinsa, jossa tapaa poikansa ja tämän äidin.
